“Narchitektur” presented by Visual Artist Sige Nagels, for the exhibition ‘Dear 2050: Humans respond to climate change’, organized by Climanosco, Oct. 24 – Nov. 6, St Annagasse 11, Zürich, 2020
Join Sige on a walk through Zürich where she takes you into the near future, where her architect’s and artist’s design answers and addresses climate change.
Just like nature carries Zürich, this installation carries 3d compositions of architecture & nature of nine locations in the heart of the city. Combined with painting & collage, this experience opens doors in your mind, making you hold on to these imaginations and visualizations of how we can evolve our cities into sustainable versions for our children and for nature.
Walking the streets of Zürich afterward will make you see this new reality of ‘’Narchitektur’’ for yourself. You’ll want to share stories of your favorite look-throughs with your beloved ones! It will make your dream almost real, you can touch it with your bare hands, and act upon it more.
The art installation was exhibited afterward on the rooftop of Hotel Sedartis, presenting my hometown Thalwil with this vision on the 21st of November, 2020.
Since then already several exhibitions were set up.

Münsterhof, Zürich: Im Herzen der Altstadt schuf ich ultramoderne Strukturen aus Schatten und Schutz für das ganze Jahr. Ich respektierte den notwendigen Verkehr und den öffentlichen Charakter des Platzes, handhabte das Raster, das von Fussgängern ausgeht, die in alle Richtungen kreuzen, und lenkte Wind- und Kälteströme um.
Der Platz ist so gestaltet, dass Chilbi und Märkte stattfinden können, dass eine Verbindung besteht und dass die Wasserquelle Erfrischung bringt. Das Dach der modernen Konstruktionen enthält Solarzellen, die abends und nachts ökologisch leuchtende Stadtlichter werfen.
Ich sehe einen Kellner, der den Menschen, die auf einer Terrasse sitzen, Getränke bringt und an einem heissen Samstagnachmittag im Schatten ihr Wochenende geniesst, den Sommer im Herzen der Stadt feiert.

Münsterhof, Zürich: In the heart of the old city, I created ultra-modern structures of shadow & shelter for all year round. Respecting the necessary traffic and the public character of the square, handling the grid that comes from pedestrians crossing to all directions and redirecting flows of winds and cold.
This square is designed to create space for visitors and inhabitants, perhaps Chilbi and markets take place, to connect and for the water source to bring refreshment. The roof of the modern constructions contains solar cells, throwing ecologically shining city lights during evenings and nights.
I see a waiter bringing drinks to people sitting on a terrace, enjoying their weekend in the shade during a hot summer Saturday afternoon, celebrating summer in the heart of the city.
