“Narchitektur” presented by Visual Artist Sige Nagels, for the exhibition ‘Dear 2050: Humans respond to climate change’, organized by Climanosco, Oct. 24 – Nov. 6, St Annagasse 11, Zürich, 2020
Join Sige on a walk through Zürich where she takes you into the near future, where her architect’s and artist’s design answers and addresses climate change.
Just like nature carries Zürich, this installation carries 3d compositions of architecture & nature of nine locations in the heart of the city. Combined with painting & collage, this experience opens doors in your mind, making you hold on to these imaginations and visualizations of how we can evolve our cities into sustainable versions for our children and for nature.
Walking the streets of Zürich afterward will make you see this new reality of ‘’Narchitektur’’ for yourself. You’ll want to share stories of your favorite look-throughs with your beloved ones! It will make your dream almost real, you can touch it with your bare hands, and act upon it more.
The art installation was exhibited afterward on the rooftop of Hotel Sedartis, presenting my hometown Thalwil with this vision on the 21st of November, 2020.
Since then already several exhibitions were set up.

Bahnhof Hardbrücke + SBB Depot, Zürich: Die Überdachung dieser massiven Freifläche (die für Lauf- und Gleisanschlüsse genutzt wird) stellt eine Verlängerung eines mehrere Quadratkilometer grossen Spaziergangs im Herzen der Stadt dar.
Sowohl das Vordach der Langstrasse als auch das von der Hardbrücke aus sind miteinander verbunden, um einen sehr grossen Spaziergang im Park der Stadt zu schaffen. Die Hardbrücke ist auf beiden Seiten mit Konstruktionen bedeckt, die die Landschaft zerschneiden, wie ein Boot Wasserflächen zerschneidet. Der Park enthält bewusst viele Bäume und Sträucher.
Ich sehe einen Pendler, der am Bahnhof Hardbrücke auf den Zug aufspringt und nach seinem kurzen Abendspaziergang über die Gleise nach Hause fährt, um sein Instagram mit der schönsten Landschaft zu speisen, die dieser Ort bei winterlichem Sonnenuntergang bietet.
Ich sehe Kinder in der Frühsommer Sonne, die den Wasserspass geniessen und barfuss durchs Gras laufen, bis sie ihren Hund gefangen haben, sich wälzen, umarmen und lachen.

Station Hardbrücke + SBB Depot, Zürich: Covering this massive open space (used for run and siding tracks) delivers a prolongation to a massive walk in the heart of the city of several square kilometers. Both the canopy of the Langstrasse and this from the Hardbrücke are connected to create a very large walk in the park in the city. The Hardbrücke is covered with construction on both sides cutting the landscape like a boat cuts water surfaces. The park deliberately contains a lot of trees and bushes.
I see a commuter hopping on the train at the Hardbrücke station, heading home after his short evening walk above the tracks, providing his Instagram feed with the most beautiful scenery this place offers by winter sunset.
I see children in the early summer sun enjoying the water fun and running through the grass barefoot till they caught their dog, rolling, hugging, and laughing.
